Email sent to the department's press office.

The email said that The Outlaw Ocean Project had submitted an enquiry to the Department for Education in late August, and were informed that our questions had been referred to Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Department of Business and Trade and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. However, no response was received. The email asked the following questions: 1. Has fish sourced from Yantai Sanko, Yantai Longwin or Qingdao Tianyuan been served to students or staff at any UK government educational facilities since 2019? 2. Can the UK government confirm it is confident that no Uyghur forced labor exists in any of the seafood served to students or staff at UK government educational facilities? 3. Has fish sourced from Yantai Sanko, Yantai Longwin or Qingdao Tianyuan been served to patients or staff at any UK government healthcare facilities since 2019? 4. Can the UK government confirm it is confident that no Uyghur forced labor exists in any of the seafood served to patients or staff at UK government healthcare facilities? The email noted that the investigation's findings further show white fish from Birds Eye and Young's Seafood is also served to patients in the UK healthcare sector. The email also asked if a response could be expected by close of business today or whether an extension is needed.

Future correspondence will be added here as this conversation continues.
